High School Athletics Wrap-up

Both of St. Anne's girls basketball teams scored victories yesterday in Huron-Perth Athletic Association play.

The junior girls' team topped F.E. Madill 19-14 and then the senior girls team beat Madill 31-24.

In girls field hockey, Goderich picked up two wins  including a 10-0 decision over Stratford Northwestern and a 6-0 decision over St. Anne's. In the day's other match-up, St. Anne's blanked Stratford Northwestern 7-0.

In boys baseball, Listowel hammered Stratford Northwestern 13-7 and Central Huron shut out St. Marys 6-0.

A light day in Bluewater Athletic Association action yesterday.

In senior girls basketball, Walkerton dominated Chesley 32-2.

In senior boys volleyball, West Hill claimed a straight sets victory over Grey Highlands before falling 2-1 to St. Mary's.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
