Sugar Kings Fall to Dutchmen

The Elmira Sugar Kings fell 4-1 to Kitchener in the GOJHL's lone game yesterday.

Logan Schmidt opened the scoring for the Dutchmen on the power play in the final minutes of the first period.

In the second, Owen Lane put the Dutchmen up 2-0 in the opening minutes of the frame before Quinten Bruce answered for Elmira at 6:28. It would be the Sugar Kings only goal on the night.

Austin Gaboury would score short handed for the Dutchmen midway through the second and Adam Kawalec would add another in the final three minutes of the game.

The Dutchmen spent nearly three times as long in the penalty box, serving 28 minutes on 10 infractions. Elmira spent 10 minutes in the box on 7 infractions.
