High School Athletics Round-up

Grey Highlands' Junior Girls Basketball team scored a narrow, 21-20 victory over Peninsula Shores in Bluewater Athletic Association. Nicole Matika lead the scoring with 10. Elsewhere, Jill Lyman sunk 17 points for West Hill in their 29-27 win over OSCVI.

In Senior Girls Basketball, St. Marys dominated Georgian Bay 49-22. Alanna Lawrence had 13 points and Nicole Sutton had 11 rebounds. Paige Concordia and Jenny McRoberts combined for 29 points in Peninsula Shores 47-24 victory over Grey Highlands. Elsewhere, OSCVI topped West Hill 33-14.

The Huron Perth Athletic Association was all about volleyball yesterday.

In Junior Boys action, Stratford Central edged St. Anne's 2-1, before losing in straight sets to Mitchell. St. Anne's defeated Mitchell in straight sets in the third game on the schedule.

In Senior Boys Volleyball, Stratford Central downed St. Anne's and Mitchell in straight sets.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
