New Contract For Hanover Police Service

The Hanover Police Services Board and the Hanover Police Association have reached an agreement on a three-year contract covering uniform and civilian members of the Hanover Police Service.

The agreement includes wage adjustments totaling six-percent over the life of the deal as well as other changes to the contract language comparable with other police services of similar size.

There is a reduction in the short term disability benefits but the contract calls for improvements in the long term disability benefits and vision care.

The deal means the base rate for a First Class Constable rises to $90,311.29.
