Woman Charged For Driving Double The Speed Limit

A Toronto woman has been charged after police clocked a vehicle driving more than double the speed limit in Perth East.

The Ontario Provincial Police says on Friday just before 10am, officers witnessed a Volkswagen car traveling 115 km/h in the 50 km/h zone on Perth Rd. 119 in Gads Hill.

The vehicle was pulled over by officers and was towed from the scene.

A 58 year-old Toronto woman has been charged with racing a motor vehicle. She is scheduled to appear in court on November 24.

The Volkswagen will be impounded for seven days and the woman's licence has been suspended for a week.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
