Bayfield Sewage Capacity Shrinking

An expansion of the Bayfield sewage treatment facility is moving to the top of the priority list for Bluewater council.

Bayfield is averaging about 20 new hook-ups a year and council has been told there is less than three years of capacity left.

Business and residential growth in Bayfield and the surrounding area is projected to continue.

Bluewater mayor Tyler Hessel says the previous council had recommended Bluewater partner with Central Huron on the project to control costs, so communications with Central Huron is important.

Hessel adds council is planning at the right time, but they also have to move forward soon.
