Meaford Considers Leasing Indoor Pool

Swimming enthusiasts in Meaford may get the chance to enjoy their sport year-round without having to leave the Municipality.

Parks and Recreation director Dan Buttineau and his staff are studying a plan to lease an indoor swimming pool for ten months of the year.

The indoor pool is located at Brookside Condominiums in Meaford.

Buttineau says the cost for leasing the indoor pool would be almost $100,000 a year.

It would be a two-and-a-half-year pilot program and the lease would not begin until next September. So, the total cost for the rest of the 2016 calendar year would be $54,500.

When Buttineau and his staff complete their study and prepare a report, he will present it to council for their consideration.
