Annual Owl Prowl Saturday Night Near Exeter

The popularity of the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority's annual Owl Prowl continues to grow.

Conservation Educator Melissa Prout explains the Owl Prowl starts with a 20-minute presentation about local owls and some of the adaptations they make to survive here.

Then handlers from the Raptor Centre at the Mountsberg Conservation Area will bring two live owls for people to see, and then everyone will head outside where ABCA staff will use recorded calls to try and get Eastern Screech Owls to respond.

Prout says for the last few years they've been very successful in attracting Eastern Screech Owls.

The two start times are at 6pm and 7:30pm Saturday night at the Morrison Dam near Exeter. Prout advises people to dress for the weather and to leave pets at home.
