Brown to Coach Walkerton Hawks

Former Wingham Ironmen assistant coach and Windsor Spitfires scout Bill Brown is the new bench boss for the Walkerton Hawks.

The position with the Western Junior C club was vacated when Brad Tiley resigned to go to Owen Sound for an assistant coaching position.

Brown says he had a chance to watch the Hawks skate Friday night.

"There's a lot of talent there," he says, "I think up front they are very deep, the back end is solid, the goal tending is good so they're a good team."

Brown says he's excited for the opportunity to coach the Hawks. His first appearance on the bench will be Saturday night when Walkerton hosts his former team, the Wingham Ironmen.
