Listowel Dancer Qualifies For World Irish Dance Championships

Listowel's Niki Louvelle is making a name for herself competing in Irish Dancing.

Louvelle recently finished ninth at the Great Britain Championships and 12th at the All Irelands Championship. This past weekend, she won the Eastern Canadian Irish Dance Championships.

Louvelle follows an intense training schedule, driving from Listowel to Toronto four times a week for classes.

"I also do cross training, going to the gym, going for runs," she says. "Obviously we have to keep our nutrition pretty healthy as well."

Her 12th place finish in Ireland and her first place victory at her Regional Oireachtas qualified her to compete at the World Irish Dance Championships in Glasgow, Scotland from March 20-27.
