Fundraising Begins For 'Hope For A Child's Future' In Grey Bruce

Our Kids Bruce Grey has kicked off the annual "Hope for a Child's Future" holiday campaign.

The Our Kids Foundation hopes to support over 700 young people this year, by providing things like snowsuits, tutors, groceries and sports equipment.

Last year, donations totalled $73,000. which helped about 160 local children.

Spokesperson Cindy Wheeler says the holiday season is a good time to give back to the community, and every dollar donated goes directly to a local child.

Any donation will help, but you or a group, could sponsor a child for an entire year with a gift of $500.

That could help with music lessons, baby safety equipment or help fund post secondary education.

Wheeler says its a chance to provide a child with experiences, memories and opportunities that wouldn't otherwise exist.

Donations can be broken down into monthly or quarterly payments.
