Three Arrested After Violent Robbery In Mitchell

Three men have been charged following a violent robbery at a home in Mitchell.

The Ontario Provincial Police says during the early morning hours on Sunday, three men knocked on the door and then forced their way into a Francis St. home. The homeowner was reportedly punched and restrained by one man, while the others searched the home, stealing some electronics, personal documents and other miscellaneous items.

Police arrived at the scene around 6am and were told the men were seen heading south from Frances St. along St. Andrew St.

Perth County OPP officers, with the assistance of the OPP West Region Canine Unit, were led to another Mitchell residence where three men matching the suspects' description were arrested.

Police say a number of stolen items were recovered after police obtained a search warrant.

Byron Anderson Laing, 21, of West Perth, Shawn Fraser William Tinning, 30, of Stratford and Dylan Joseph Benjamin Sigl, 20, of West Perth, have all been charged with robbery with violence and wearing a disguise with the intent to commit a crime.  Sigl and Tinning have also been charged for failing to comply with a probation order.

All three men remain in custody pending future court dates.
