Former Wingham School Conversion Continues

The former Wingham Public School is moving closer to becoming a Community Health Campus.

The Huron County Health Unit moved its Wingham satellite office into the former school at the beginning of November. One Care is also based out of the school now.

Listowel-Wingham Hospitals Alliance CEO Karl Ellis explains the plans include converting the former school gymnasium into a health clinic. He says the current clinic beside the hospital has physicians, dietitians, and other specialists who would all move to the new school location once completed.

Ellis says long-term plans include a pharmacy and dispensary as well as office space and meeting rooms.
