Southgate Wants Crackdown On Speeders

Southgate council is considering safety zones and reduced speed limits after hearing about speeders in the municipality.

Particularly troubling was the report that one driver in the village of Proton Station was clocked going 100 km/h over the 50 km/h posted limit, driving a tandem truck or bus-like vehicle.

Southgate Deputy Mayor Norm Jack says lower speed limits and safety zones won’t slow down speeders. It requires police enforcement.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
