Wingham Hospital Foundation Receives $200K Pledge

The Wingham and District Hospital Foundation fundraising campaign has received a $200,000 donation from the Lucknow and District Kinsmen Club.

The Our Hospital, Our Future campaign aims to raise $4-million over the next five years.

Since 2013, the Kinsmen has contributed $10,000 a year to the Wingham Hospital through the CKNX Radiothon, and plan to continue the tradition with this new pledge.

Club spokesman Rick McMurray says the hospital is important to their community, and the funds for the gift were raised mostly through the very successful Music in the Fields annual concert.

The campaign will fund a significant redevelopment and expansion of six departments, replace digital imaging equipment, and creation of a one stop shop community health care campus.

So far, nearly $1-million has been raised.

“We’re extremely grateful to the Kinsmen Club," says Bart Cameron, deputy chair of the Our Hospital, Our Future campaign. "It is wonderful to see that amount of generosity and enthusiasm come from the Lucknow community and to know that they support the project."
