OPP Officer Charged After Crash

An officer from the Huron County OPP detachment faces a charge after a crash this week.

The crash happened on Cardiff Rd. in Huron East on Tuesday.

Police say the officer had finished a traffic investigation and was making a turn when the fully marked police cruiser struck a parked vehicle. Investigators say there was minor damage to both vehicles, but no injuries.

Constable Graham Avery, a one-year veteran of the force, is charged with start from a stopped position not in safety.
