Elmira Wins with a Full Team Effort

Elmira got goals from six different players en route to a 6-4 win over Waterloo.

Liam Conway had a stellar performance in net, stopping 43 shots to earn the win.

It was close game with Waterloo opening the scoring at 5:08 of the first period and Elmira's Jeff Jordan answering for the Sugar Kings just over a minute later. Waterloo would score again in the final five minutes of the frame. Quinten Bruce and Ryan Walsh would find the net for the Sugar Kings to put Elmira up 3-2 heading into the second.

Elmira dominated the score board in the second period with David Elford and Alex Peterson scoring to put the Sugar Kings up 5-2 heading into the third.

Waterloo would score first in the final period and Zac Coulter would answer shortly after. The final goal of the game would go to Elmira.

The Siskins spent a combined 76 minutes in the box on 19 infractions. The Sugar Kings had 33 minutes on 12 infractions. Elmira was 2-9 on the power play while Waterloo was 3-9.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
