Fraud And Theft Charges Laid In Collingwood

A woman from Springwater Township is facing fraud and theft charges, following a joint-forces investigation in the Collingwood, Blue Mountains, and Barrie areas.

It started after police received complaints about the actions of an employee of a property management business based out of Collingwood.

The OPP Crime Unit uncovered fraudulent financial activity involving various condominium corporations in Collingwood, The Blue Mountains and Barrie area.

41-year-old Rhonda McCarthy of Springwater Township is facing charges of Fraud Over $5000, Theft Over $5000, and Uttering Forged Documents.

She is to appear in Collingwood court on December 29th.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
