Goderich Vikings Honoured at Council

The Goderich Viking Field Hockey team was recognized at Goderich council last night.

The Vikings advanced to the OFSSA gold medal match in Peterborough, losing 4 – 2 to Resurrection Phoenix from Kitchener. Coach Ray Lewis says it was a great game and was tied at two with 12 minutes left in the game. Lewis says Goderich has a field hockey team for about 14 years now and the team has continued to improve each year.

They have a 22 players fairly evenly spread out from grade nine to grade twelve and the success of this year only adds to the excitement looking forward to next year.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
