Wellington North Offers Help to Refugee Relocation

Wellington North Mayor Andy Lennox hopes there is some way the municipality can help with a project to bring in a Syrian refugee family to Mount Forest.

The project is being sponsored by local churches, including the United Church.

Lennox says Wellington North might be able to provide administrative support such as managing donations and working with Wellington County social services to find housing or teach English.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
