Bruce Peninsula OPP Locate Wanted Suspect

A young woman, wanted by Bruce Peninsula OPP on several outstanding warrants, has been arrested without incident.

Police had asked for help from the public Tuesday in locating 19-year-old Shawna Petonoquot of Saugeen First Nation.

She is now in custody. Charges against her include assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, and fail to comply with probation.

The charges stem from an assault on a 43-year-old Saugeen First Nation woman Monday night.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
