Wellington OPP Check Hundreds Of Vehicles

Wellington County OPP officers checked over 200 vehicles in the first hour of the annual Festive R.I.D.E. program.

It happened yesterday in front of the Operations Centre in Aboyne.

Within the first hour, police administered four roadside breath tests, five open alcohol charges were laid, there were three drug possession charges laid and police handed out one three-day license suspension.

The Festive R.I.D.E. stands for reduce impaired driving everywhere and the program runs until January 16.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
