Students Complete Port Elgin Airport Project

Construction students from Saugeen District Secondary School have completed work on an accessible washroom project at the Port Elgin Airport.

The grade 11 and 12 class started working on the washroom in early November, doing everything themselves - from the carpentry to installing the plumbing.

The students were under the supervision of their teacher Bud Halpin, and the project was in conjunction with the Airport Committee and the Town of Saugeen Shores.

Director of Community Services Jayne Jagelewski says the students learned "valuable life skills" and that the project "benefits the whole community."
