Grey-Bruce Police Services Launch R.I.D.E. Campaign

Several Police Services across Grey and Bruce Counties are officially kicking off the Seasonal R.I.D.E Program today.

Owen Sound Police Service Inspector Vince Wurfel says it's important for all of the police service agencies to work together to combat drinking and driving.

"We work collaboratively on many joint forces and traffic safety initiatives," says Wurfel. "This is particular is very important with the busy holiday season coming up with office parties, and Christmas parties, to really reinforce the message of not drinking and driving and seeking alternate options when you're going to be drinking."

Taking part in this year's R.I.D.E. Campaign are police services from Owen Sound, West Grey, Hanover and Saugeen Shores together with members from the Grey County, South Bruce and Bruce Peninsula OPP Detachments.
