New Doctor Starts in Kincardine Next Summer

Kincardine has landed a new doctor for the Kincardine Community Medical Clinic.

Council approved an agreement with Dr. Damian Gunaratne to begin his practice in August of next year, offering relief for the overburdened physicians trying to cover for recent vacancies at the clinic.

Gunaratne recently spent five weeks working at the Kincardine clinic before making his decision.

An important factor was the provision of one of the two houses provided for doctors by the Society of Energy Professionals.

The credit is going to the the physician recruitment program in partnership with Bruce Power and Saugeen shores.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
