After only four days, the CKNX Relief Truck for Huron County Food Banks is off to a remarkable start.
Heading into the first weekend of the initiative, the local community and surrounding communities continue to show support through generous donations.
CKNX AM920 Morning Man, Buzz Reynolds, is living in the tractor trailer outside Dean's Value Mart in Wingham and says he's overwhelmed by the generosity so far.
"I'm left speechless, beyond what anybody expected it's been an amazing display of the generosity of this area, it's flooring," says a tired Reynolds.
And Buzz Reynolds is certainly no stranger to an event like this; in fact, this is the sixth time he's done this event, but it's the very first time it's been done here in Midwestern Ontario.
Rick Howson of Howson Mills in Blyth, Ontario donated approximately 10,000 meals to the CKNX Relief Truck.
"This is the strongest out of the gate I've ever seen it," adds Reynolds.
Judging by the amount of food already collected in four days, the community is certainly coming together to "Be The Change", which is the campaign slogan for the CKNX Relief Truck initiative.
"It's a great message because it doesn't matter the volume of the change we're talking about. For instance some of the little kids are coming and they will bring one tin of food and they can barely carry that down the walkway now and they are, be the change," says an emotional Buzz Reynolds.
Donations continue to pour in for the CKNX Relief Truck for Huron County Food Banks and the community support has been incredible.
