Building Boom in Minto Continues

Minto continues to have a record-breaking year for new construction.

To the end of October, $22.7-million in permits were issued, compared to $13.7-million for the same period last year.

The total includes $6.5-million in residential permits and $6.2-million in agricultural permits.

Minto Mayor George Bridge says the new assessment resulting from the construction boom will be a real help to taxpayers.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
