Grey Highlands Woman Not Guilty

A 61-year old Grey Highlands woman has been found not guilty in connection with a marijuana grow-up.

Susan Douglas of Flesherton had been charged with production of marijuana, possession for the purpose of trafficking and theft of electricity. Police charged Douglas over two years ago after searching a property on East Back Line in Grey Highlands. Investigators, who had a search warrant, found $3.7-million worth of pot.

A co-accused, 50-year old Joao Saraiva of Amaranth Township, pleaded guilty earlier this year to one count of production of marijuana and was given four and a half years in prison, minus time served.

Charges against a third co-accused, 31-year old Nicholas Watman of Keswick, were dismissed.
