Wellington North Water-Sewer Rates Unchanged For 2016

Wellington North is looking at $18-million in capital improvements to its water and sewer system over the next six years.

Wellington North householders are now paying an average of $1,222 per year in water and sewer charges, placing it second highest in a survey of 18 area municipalities.

However, Wellington North rates went up a couple of years ago, so the municipality is now in a position to hold its rates unchanged until 2018.

Treasurer Paul Dowber predicted many of the other municipalities in the survey are about to raise their rates, which will move Wellington North closer to the middle of the pack.
