High School Athletics Wrap-Up

Mixed results for John Diefenbaker's volley ball teams yesterday in Bluewater Athletic Association action.

JDSS topped Kincardine 2 sets to 1 in Junior Girls Volleyball.

In Senior Girls Volleyball, JDSS fell 2-1 to Kincardine and 2-1 to Chesley. In the days other game, Kincardine took a straight sets victory over Chesley.

In Junior Boys Basketball, Sidney Bouma and Lee Stephens combined for 19 points in St. Mary's 34-31 win over OSCVI. Owen Sound's Owen Torrie had 12 points for the Falcons.

In Senior Boys Basketball, Ben Phillips sunk 12 points as Georgian Bay routed West Hill 57-27. Harry Weichel and Jake MacNab had 25 points in St. Mary's 41-34 win over OSCVI.

On the ice, St. Mary's edged Georgian Bay 8-7 in Boys Curling.

In Huron Perth Athletic Association action, St. Michael edged South Huron 4-3.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
