Ash Tree Removal Continues In Huron County

Damaged and dead Ash trees are now being removed from along Huron County roadways.

County Engineer Steve Lund says at least 1,200 trees in the southern part of the county have been affected.

The Emerald Ash Borer has been moving north through the county over the past year or two, and the problem moved with them.

Lund adds they are planting new trees to replace the Ash trees as they take them down. They try to plant on the down-slope, back from the roads to avoid future problems with traffic.
