Bluewater ETFO Local Ratifies Tentative Agreement

The Bluewater Local of the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario has ratified the local tentative agreement with the Bluewater District School Board.

Bluewater Teacher Local President Julie Stanley stated in a news release today that the tentative deal was ratified at a general membership meeting in Chesley last evening.

A central agreement at the provincial level was reached in early November between the Elementary Teachers’ Federation and the Ontario Public School Boards Association.

Stanley stated that the agreement is fair for Bluewater teachers and the Bluewater school board, but added the new two-tiered bargaining process resulted in fewer items being available for local bargaining.
