Huron-Bruce MP Fighting T.F.S.A. Limit Reduction

Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb has called on the Liberal government to return the Tax Free Savings Account limit to $10,000.

As of January 1st, 2016 the limit will drop to $5,500. and Lobb says it isn't fair to seniors and working Canadians.

He says the point of it in the first place was to give people another method of saving for their future; he says let's give people a chance.

"Out in our area we have a lot small business people, a lot of farmers, let's not penalize the people in rural Ontario and rural Canada," says Lobb.

Department of Finance research shows the majority of those using tax free savings accounts are low to middle income earners.

Lobb adds today's lower interest rates make it even harder to to save for the future.
