Huron OPP Sex Assault Investigation: Five Victims So Far

A man from London has been charged by Huron OPP in connection with sexual assault offences, some dating back near 40 years.

Police received information in October about offences involving a person under the age of 16.

Through the course of the investigation, five victims have been identified and a suspect was interviewed.

The accused has been involved with various churches in the Huron County area. He has also been employed in teaching martial arts and meditation to children. Some of the offences date back to 1976.

Kelly Douglas Laycox, 54, of London has been charged with sexual assault, and sexual interference with a person under 16 years of age.

He remains in custody and will appear for a bail hearing in Goderich on January 25.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
