Charges Laid In Southgate ATV Crash

Police have charged a teen after an ATV crashed in the Township of Southgate injuring a passenger.

The crash happened on November 15 on Edgar St.

Police say a 16-year old female from the Municipality of Grey Highlands was thrown from the ATV and suffered serious, life-threatening injuries. At that time she was air lifted to a Toronto hospital and has since been released.

Neither the driver or the passenger were wearing helmets.

Grey County OPP has now charged the 16-year old male driver from Melanchton Township with operating an off-road vehicle with no insurance; operating an off-road vehicle with no helmet and operating an off-road vehicle with a passenger with no helmet.

Police have not released the names of the teens.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
