Attempted Robbery at Mac's Store Near Craigleith

The Mac's Convenience store near Craigleith was the target of an attempted robbery early this morning.

Shortly after 1:00 a.m., OPP officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment responded to a call to the Mac’s store on Highway 26 near Grey Road 19.

They were informed that a suspect dressed in black with his face covered had entered the store brandishing a knife.   He demanded money, but the employee was unable to access the cash register, and the suspect fled the scene.   The employee was not hurt.

An OPP Emergency Response Team and a Canine Unit were brought in to search the area, but the suspect was not found.

The suspect is described as about five-foot five, with a slight build with some hair growth around the neck area.

He was wearing a black nylon insulated jacket, black hoodie, a black ski mask covering his face, black gloves, black pants and black shoes, and carrying a back pack.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
