Markdale Home Hit By Thieves

Jewelry and clothing have been stolen from a home in Markdale.

Grey County OPP got a call Sunday evening from a woman who discovered the break-in when she returned to her residence on Brackenbury St. in Markdale.

Police determined that someone entered the home through the garage between 4:30pm and 7pm Sunday evening and removed jewelry and clothing.   The total value of the missing items is $6,000.

A small car was seen in the victim’s driveway, and a red or burgundy SUV was parked in front of the residence during the time period when the break-in occurred.

The Grey County Crime Unit and the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit from Mount Forest continue to investigate.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
