AMDSB: Student Learning Targets Met In 2015

The director of education for the Avon Maitland District School Board says the past year included successes and challenges.

Ted Doherty feels the board made great strides in its strategic plan targets.  Those include preparing students for life after school as well as creating an inclusive learning environment while they're in school.

But he also says labour issues with teachers and staff creating some bumps in the road throughout the entire public education system in Ontario.

Doherty believes there was a lot to learn from the experiences of 2015 and he's looking forward to 2016.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
