High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

The Scarecrow Invasion and Family Festival in Meaford will be special in 2016.  The Invasion will celebrate its 20th birthday.
'Head Scarecrow' Marilyn Morris has led the parade for most of the past 19 years.   She has announced that the theme for 2016 is 'Scarecrows Celebrate their 20th Birthday with Music'.
Morris says that means participants will be encouraged to carry drums, flutes, trumpets, cymbals and any other musical instruments in the parade.
It's scheduled for Friday, September 30th, 2016.
