Meaford Woman Recognized Nationally

A Meaford woman has picked up a national award.

Kaisha Thompson is the winner of the Mayor Andree P. Boucher Memorial Scholarship presented by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.

It recognizes female students currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies who contribute to women in politics.

Thompson has been involved in the campaigns of local Liberal candidates Kimberley Love and Ellen Anderson.

She was recently elected Treasurer of the Liberal Party of Canada's Ontario branch - the youngest person in the organisation's history to sit on the executive.

Thompson's achievement will be recognised at the Municipality of Meaford's next council meeting.
