South Huron Winterfest Scheduled For Family Day

The chair of the South Huron Family Day Winterfest says chances for snow look pretty good right now.

But George Finch says they have enough events planned to keep everyone busy with or without snow.

The Family Day Winterfest was started in 2010 and has become a tradition in Exeter with all of the local service clubs as well as other sponsors getting involved.

This year's event will be held on Family Day, February 15, and will start with the breakfast at eight in the morning at the South Huron Recreation Centre.

One of the new events is the horse-drawn wagon ride or sleigh ride, depending on the amount of snow. Other events include free skating at both the Exeter and Stephen Township arenas, snow-shoeing, pickle ball, billiards, curling at the curling club and the highlight of the event will be fireworks in the evening.

A complete schedule of events can be found on the Family Day Winterfest web site.
