Illegal Barbwire A Concern For Grey County OPP And Snowmobilers

Grey County OPP are warning the person or persons responsible for illegally erecting barbwire on Crown land not to do it again or they can be charged with a criminal offence and open themselves to civil action.

On January 22nd, Grey County OPP responded to reports of 3 foot high barbwire being erected on Crown land in the area of Grey Rd. 31 and Road 57D in the Municipality of Grey Highlands. Police also found illegal signs posted saying "Snowmobile Lanes Closed."

The OPP warn that a snowmobiler hitting these barbwire barriers could cause serious injury or death, and the police are asking anyone with information regarding this illegal activity to contact Grey County OPP.
