Wingham Hospital Campaign Hits One Million $$

The 'Our Hospital - Our Future' Campaign for the Wingham and District Hospital has hit the one million dollar mark.

A donation of $25 thousand dollars from McDonagh Insurance Brokers brought the Hospital Foundation's campaign to that level.

Fundraising Committee Member Scott Miller, a Wingham resident and cancer survivor himself, says reaching the one million dollar mark so quickly speaks to the generosity and support of the community and to the importance of the hospital within the communities it serves.

"Really the best way to describe it is that the response from the community has been overwhelming," says Miller. "We've asked people if they're willing to help out and basically no one has said no."

Miller says the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation hopes to reach the goal of $4 million dollars within the year.
