Owen Sound Police Arrest Alleged Clothing Thief

Police have made an arrest following thefts at two Owen Sound stores.

The Owen Sound Police Service says on Wednesday, clothing items were stolen from the Vertical Board Shop at 1039 2nd Ave. E, and from the Home Depot at 1590 16th St. E.

An investigation revealed the thefts were committed by one person and police identified a suspect.

On Friday, an Owen Sound police detective saw the suspect in the 200-block of 13th St. E where was arrested without incident.

Joseph Hammill, 32, is charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 and three counts of failing to comply with the conditions of his probation.
