Fire Causes $30K Damage To Owen Sound Home

Firefighters managed to contain a blaze at an Owen Sound home this morning to a bedroom.

Firefighters were called to the 600-block of 8th St. E a around 11am.

Fire Chief Doug Barfoot says damage added up to about $30,000, but he says it could have been worse.

Fortunately the bedroom door was shut, which stopped the blaze from spreading. However, there is some smoke and water damage in other parts of the house.

The family and two pets are all safe.

There is no word yet on a cause.
