Dundalk Residential Build

Southgate wants to be ready when the tidal wave of new residents comes to the village of Dundalk.

There are now 800 residential units in the works for Dundalk which when complete will double the size of the community, and require as much as $20-million in infrastructure such as sewage and water services.

Development charges on the new homes will only generate about $8-million.

Southgate may seek help in coping with the people boom from a financial planner, municipal engineer and other municipalities which have experienced similar rapid growth such as Alliston and Shelburne.
