Western Junior C Playoffs

Kincardine 6 Goderich 4

The Kincardine Bulldogs are one win away from advancing to the Western Junior C Semi-Finals after beating Goderich 6-4 yesterday.

Shawn Moore struck twice an added an assist for the Bulldogs and Tyler Fregona scored and had three helpers in the win.

Goderich's Trent Michie had a hat trick in the losing effort including two in the first that put the Flyers up 2-1 after the opening frame.

The Bulldogs out shot the Flyers 53-23. Jacob Hutchings got the win with 19 saves.

Wingham 4 Mitchell 3

The Wingham Ironmen evened their Western Junior C quarter final playoff series at two games a piece with a 4-3 win yesterday.

Wingham had a 2-0 lead heading into the second. Mitchell struck twice to tie the game by the second intermission. Wingham scored twice midway through the third to put the Ironmen up 4-2.

Mitchell's McKenzie Carter scored at 15:50 to put the Hawks within a goal of Wingham.

Mitch Deelstra, Greg Scott, Josh Stewart, and Ryan McNeil scored for the Ironmen.

Ben Nelson earned the win for the Ironmen stopping 28 shots.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
