New Canine Control Officer Needed In Wellington North

Wellington North is looking for a new canine control officer after the former one quit the job.

Several councillors expressed concern about an offer to do the job by the Guelph Humane Society.

Among other things, councillors said that Guelph is too far away from Wellington North and its officers may not be trained in agricultural issues such as bio-security.

Council asked staff to come up with other options for possibly sharing a canine control officer with nearby municipalities such as Southgate, West Grey or Mapleton.
