Wellington North has supported an official plan amendment to allow a new Canadian Tire store in Mount Forest.
Canadian Tire wants to locate the store on Main St. N, just north of the No Frills grocery store. The 30,000 sq ft store would be on a three-acre property in front of the Vintex manufacturing plant.
Nearby property owner Dwight Benson supported the proposal, but expressed concerns about traffic congestion at the north end of town.
The proposal still needs approval of a zone amendment and a site plan.
