Saugeen First Nation Man Charged With Attempted Murder

A Saugeen First Nation man is facing an attempted murder charge after another man was seriously injured in an assault.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Friday around 9:29pm, officers responded to a residence along Scotch Settlement Rd. in Saugeen First Nation after receiving a call about an assault with a weapon.

A 19-year-old Saugeen First Nation man was found at the scene and was taken to hospital to be treated for life threatening injuries. He has since been transferred to a London hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Tristan Bricker-Ritchiea, 20, of Saugeen First Nation has been charged with attempted murder. He is being held in custody pending a hearing scheduled for Tuesday.

The investigation is ongoing.
